It has been my experience that SAGA provide a relatively hassle-free method
of declaring pre-existing medical conditions when booking travel insurance
on-line.
I have used Atlas Direct before I had my heart attack - but after the event they
required me to phone up medical screeing which enacted an additional charge. For
a 1 week trip to France they required £40.00 screening fee, in addition to the
policy premium. This made for quite expensive insurance.
Similar cover, obtained through SAGA, entailed declaration of pre-existing
medical conditions on-line and a total charge of just over £44.00 for the
week.(for myself and my wife)
A holiday to New Zealand, planned for Christmas/New Year 2009/10 is covered
through SAGA at a charge of just over £177.00 for both me and my wife (She has
no medical conditions!)
All of the declarations to SAGA can be printed out as they are made & retained
as copy of the conditions of insurance.
I hope this may be useful information
